Replace a polling cron job

Move the GET URL and authentication into a RerunLab source and origin-bound credential. Replace your nested field extraction with an RFC 6901 JSON Pointer. Replace your saved comparison value with a change watch, or an explicit typed condition. Choose an interval that fits your check budget and an expiry for temporary tasks.

For a safe cutover, create the watch without a webhook destination and let it establish a baseline. Compare its inbox observations with the old cron behavior. Verify your destination and ensure its consumer deduplicates event.id before attaching it. Pause the old cron after you have observed the expected event; avoid running both side-effecting consumers at the same time. Keep a rollback path to resume the old job.

RerunLab replaces scheduling, fetch safety, baseline storage, comparison, event persistence and delivery retry machinery. Your app still owns business logic and database changes after receiving the event. A 2xx receiver response alone cannot verify those changes.
